1961 Carl Yazstremski Game Used Hat
An amazing article of game used equipment dating from the 1961 season. Originally obtained by former prospect who had tried out with the Sox. Prior to taking the field he was instructed to suit up in a jersey and hat from the locker room and by chance he picked up the set belonging to Boston’s still unblossomed star. Although they would prove unlucky he kept the cap as a souvenir and now we offer it to you. It displays heavy use with a cracked visor and two holes (one each on the back panels). The underside is written with his number “8” in faded black marker and the leather headband is tagged from “Tim McAuliffe” and stamped with [size] “6 7/8” and “Pro KM Cap”. One of the few first year items from this Hall of Famer to ever surface.
