1961 Dick Stuart Game Worn Jersey
1960’s sleeveless vest style jersey is historically significant as it marks the Pirates’ propulsion into pennant contention. The introduction of this style is associated with Pittsburgh’s incredible 1960 season, fueled by young superstar Roberto Clemente, and capped by Mazeroski’s home run shot to win the championship. Donned by Dick Stuart for his All-Star season performance, this road gray jersey is a prime example of jerseys from this time period. Filled with plenty of game use, “Pirates” is stitched across the chest in black on yellow felt lettering. Verso bears Stuart’s number “7”. Collar tagging is “MacGregor 4.” Inside seam on front right tail with “set 2 1961” flag tag.
