1961 Fred Dierking Cincinnati Bearcats National Championship Watch

1961 Fred Dierking Cincinnati Bearcats National Championship Watch

The first national basketball championship the city of Cincinnati ever experienced was in 1961 when the University of Cincinnati Bearcats defeated cross-state rival Ohio State in the NCAA final. This Elgin watch was awarded by the NCAA to center Fred Dierking after the championship game and is in EX condition (it still runs!). The face reads: "NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS 1961." Comes with an LOA from Dierking, who provided 2.6 points and 2.2 rebounds a game off the bench that season. The Bearcats would repeat their feat in 1962, downing the Buckeyes for their second NCAA crown.
