1962 Ed Lopat Autographed Game Worn Coach's Jersey
Kansas City Athletics road gray jersey was worn by coach, Ed Lopat. This sleeveless vest style jersey marked a new generation of team jerseys. With the inception of color television, baseball jerseys became themselves more colorful. “Athletics” stitched across the chest in fancy arched blue on red tackle twill lettering. Large numerals “37” on verso. Signed in the collar in blue felt tip. Front left tail tagging is “Wilson [size] 44” with care instructions printed on. “Ed Lopat” is written in blue ink right on the tag. “No. 23 set 2 - 62” embroidered in blue thread on plate below. Light use. Ex Barry Halper collection with original tag from that sale still attached.
