1962 Richie Ashburn Autographed Game Worn New York Mets Jersey
Not just a great Hall of Fame gamer, this jersey is lucky to have been blessed by three outstanding players: Richie Ashburn, Duke Snider, & Roy McMillan! Following the history of the jersey, it was worn by Richie Ashburn in 1962, who originally wore it with the number "1". In 1963, the number "1" was moved over and the other number "1" was added, so you have the blue felt on orange tackle twill number "11" which is currently sewn on. This was to accommodate Duke Snider, who wore the shirt in 1963. Sharing jerseys in this fashion was a common team practice during this era. In 1964, Roy McMillan wore the shirt and the "New York World's Fair" patch was added to the right sleeve to commemorate the opening of the World's Fair and Shea Stadium. Filled with more history than most game worn jerseys, there are three signatures: Ashburn in the collar, McMillan below the left breast, and Snider below the right breast. Snider has added, "1963 400 Home Run 2,000th Hit." "New York" across the chest, circular Mets patch on left sleeve. Gray felt patch in the collar with "1-1962" embroidered in blue chain stitch. Tagging on front left tail is "Wilson [size] 40". Nice use. Comes with matching pants worn by McMillan. "Roy" written in black marker in the waistband. Tagging in waistband is "Wilson [size] 34" with "set 1 66" flag tags. Autographed on front left leg. LOA. Included is an autographed photo of Rich Ashburn wearing this jersey.
