Plus, according to a not often seen accompanying letter of authenticity (only done for the most important pieces) from BBCE proprietor Steve Hart of BBCE. Furthermore, the first series, as was the norm with Topps, includes many of the game's greatest players at the time or ever. Lurking inside are such treasures as #5 Sandy Koufax, 10 Roberto Clemente, 18 Mantle/Mays, 25 Ernie Banks, 30 Eddie Mathews, 40 Orlando Cepeda, 50 Stan Musial, 70 Harmon Killebrew, 100 Warren Spahn plus the #1 card of Roger Maris, who had broken the season home run record the year before. In addition, there are a Mickey Mantle leader card and the cultish Boog Powell Rookie. The colorfully attractive display box has survived in uncannily outstanding condition, with only light shelf wear to reveal its true age.The real key here is the literal explosion of interest in unopened material in the last year or so. The intense excitement and allure of what could be inside has driven collectors and investors to greater and greater heights. As this is the only known example of this box, it should perform admirably.
