1962 Wilt Chamberlain 100 Point Game Ticket Stub PSA GD 2 (mk)
The moral of this story is, when you go to a live sporting event, you could be witnessing history at any time. Such was the case on March 2, 1962, when 4,124 fans "packed" into the Hershey Sports Arena to watch the still-fledgling NBA contest between the Philadelphia Warriors and the New York Knicks. Little could anyone have realized they'd be seeing a performance for the ages, as Wilt Chamberlain poured in a still-record 100 points in Philly's 169-147 victory. Several sidebar stories contributed to the legendary evening, including the Knicks' starting center coming down "ill" before the game (though it could have been "Big Dipper Flu," in later years it came out that he was hungover), and both teams fouling at the end as the Warriors fed Wilt in search of the milestone. But perhaps the most amazing number is that Wilt - a career 51% free throw shooter, converted an awesome 28-of-32 from the stripe; a stunning 88%. This is the second version of this ticket we have offered, with this one having a higher graded GOOD 2 (mk) grade with PSA encapsulation. There is slight paper loss where the ticket was torn and information written on the back (thus the "mark" designation), "Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points against NY Knicks. Warriors won 169-147," followed by a notation that this was apparently part of the buyer's double-date that evening. Exceedingly rare keepsake from an unparalleled accomplishment.
