1963-64 Oscar Robertson Sam Davis Memorial Award Presented for Being Named Most Valuable Pro Basketball Player
This is the Sam Davis Memorial Award presented to Oscar Robertson as the Most Valuable Pro Player for the 1963-64 NBA season. This was a very important award given to Robertson by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. Robertson averaged 31.4 points per game for the '63-64 season to go along with 11 assists and 9.9 rebounds, putting him just shy of averaging a triple-double. Additionally, Robertson led the Cincinnati Royals to a 55-25 record, placing them second in the Eastern Division. The Sam Davis Award comes in the form of a silver plated bowl on top of a wooden base painted black. A plaque on the base reads "Sam Davis Memorial Award," Most Valuable Pro Player 1963-64, Oscar Robertson, Cincinnati Royals, Presented by M.B.W.A." It is in EX condition.
