1963-64 Oscar Robertson Sporting News NBA Player of the Year Award
A spectacular image of one of the all-time greats to ever hit the hardwood is the centerpiece of this plaque, awarded by The Sporting News to Oscar Robertson as NBA Player of the Year for 1963-64. The wood plaque measures 12.5x15" with the top plate noting the accomplishment, and a bottom plate reading, "Oscar Robertson, Cincinnati Royals, 1963-63 NBA Player of the Year Award, Selected by his fellow players in The Sporting News' annual poll as Player of the Year in the National Basketball Association for the 1963-1964 season because of his brilliant performance as a scorer, playmaker and team leader." In that magic season, The Big O came up just shy of averaging a triple-double per game, with a career-high 31.4 points, 11.0 assists, and 9.9 rebounds per contest.
