1963 Cartier Golf Trophy Presented by Prince Philip
Regal sterling silver trophy is a perpetual presented by Prince Philip, who is essentially the King of England. Marvelous supreme center of a figural golf ball suspended by geometric circles. This stands on a base that is magnificently engraved, "The Prince Philip Golf Trophy 1963" with the royal crest with the Tower of London in the center. This stands on a black wood base. This is housed in a red leather and velvet case with gilt accents lined in white satin. Inside of the case is stamped with the splendid "Cartier" mark in gold. The case is like a center-opening door revealing the enchanting trophy resting inside. The case has wear, including satin staining and leather loss, which could all be to the restored (12x14x8"). The trophy is 7x9.5x11.5" and NRMT.Trophy is fully hallmarked with the "Cartier London" seal of approval. This is the first and only Cartier sports trophy we have ever seen.
