1963 "Cleopatra" Palace Chair Prop

1963 "Cleopatra" Palace Chair Prop

Off the set of one of the most lavish Hollywood productions, this chair was featured in the 1963 blockbuster "Cleopatra," starring the Hollywood power couple of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. The set piece measures 32" wide, 25" deep and 30" tall and consists of plastic resin and a vinyl cushion. Despite mixed reviews, "Cleopatra" was the highest grossing film of that year. And it needed to be in order to earn back some of its money. To date, "Cleopatra" remains the most expensive film ever produced (adjusting figures for inflation).
