1963 Cuban Missle Crisis Wire Photos (26)

1963 Cuban Missle Crisis Wire Photos (26)

The Defense Department aerial images used in these 1962 and 1963 wire photos are amazing. The gem is an October 23, 1962 transmission of the photo from the US Embassy in London that began the Cuban missile crisis. The image shows a fully operational medium range ballistic missile base in Cuba. It has been diagramed by photo editors to highlight important features and is in NM condition. Reporting on the eventual disarmament of Cuba, other photographs include: Soviet ships leaving Cuba with fighters, bombers and missiles; before and after images of disarmed Cuban missile sites, also well diagrammed by photo editors. A few of these 8 x 10" front captioned wire photos are VG but most are EX and better. Fantastic coverage of this infamous cold war close-call.
