1963 Harvey Haddix Victory Gameball

1963 Harvey Haddix Victory Gameball

One of the most detailed, game-used baseball ever, this official (Giles) National League Spalding features hand-printed information of Harvey Haddix's relief win for the Pirates in the second game of a September 17, 1963 doubleheader vs. the Cubs. The data includes Haddix's season record, full linescore, date, time, attendance, umpires, left on base, players who recorded hits and pitcher strikeouts and walks. The writing is in black ink averaging 7-8/10 with some slight smudging. The ball shows nice use and also has red/pink ink indicating "VICTORY BALL No. 3" and all of Haddix' numbers. A tough lefty who played from 1952-65, Haddix is most remembered for having pitched 12 perfect innings vs. the Braves on 5-26-59 before losing in the 13th.
