1963 Pittsburgh Pirates Team Signed Baseball

1963 Pittsburgh Pirates Team Signed Baseball

This Pittsburgh Pirates team ball from 1963 is notable for the presence of two Hall of Famers who died far too early, Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell. In '63 Robby was 28 and in his prime, racking up a .320 batting average. Stargell, only 23, could manage only a .243 mark in 108 games but was on his way to superstardom. The signatures -- with Stargell's in an unmistakable left-handed script -- rate decent 8s and are among 22 on this ONL Giles ball including manager Danny Murtaugh on the sweet spot (8), Elroy Face, Harvey Haddix, Vern Law, Smoky Burgess, and Don Cardwell. The ball is virtually unmarked, bright and creamy, in near-pristine condition.
