1963 Willie Mays Game Worn Jersey with 1965 Pants
Spectacular vintage baseball garments off the back of the Say Hey Kid saw regular season game action in 1963 and 1965! The button-down flannel jersey with “San Francisco” arched across the chest in black on orange tackle twill lettering was worn by Mays during the 1963 season in which he batted .314 with 38 homeruns. Displaying the number he honored with a Hall of Fame career, “24” on the back and “Spalding” tag on the front left tail with [size] 42 tag and “63” embroidered in black thread below. The matching pants were worn by Mays during the 1965 season in which he batted .317 with 52 homeruns. Complete with the black leather belt around the waist, they are adorned with orange and black braided embroidery down each leg and identified in the waist: “Mays 24, 33, 26 ins” chain stitched on white felt plate with “Rawlings [size] 32”, care tag and “set 1, 1965” flag tag. Both articles are in superior display condition, displaying fine game use and vintage wear. There are two team repairs to the knee of the pants and both the jersey and pants still show traces of stadium dirt.
