1964 Abstract Football Painting
Oil and enamel on canvas-board painting, titled "The Clash," by artist Earle E. Williams. Signed and dated ("1963") by the artist in the lower right corner. The abstract artwork pictures a football game in progress. This is one of the most interesting sports paintings we have seen, with the striking array of disparate colors and shapes emotionally conveying the ferocity of the sport. The board (29.75x16.75") displays a small amount of staining along the right border on the reverse (not visible from the front) and is otherwise Near Mint in its overall appearance. Framed to total dimensions of 30x17.25". Please note: the size and/or weight of this lot will necessitate an increased shipping charge.
