1964 Clay vs. Liston Full Unused $250 Golden Circle Ticket
Cassius Clay "shook up the world" when he upset Sonny Liston to win the Heavyweight Title on February 25, 1964. Unused gold ticket to the event of the decade, possibly of ring history, is from the fight that introduced Muhammad Ali as "The Champ". Unseen paper artifact is the first we have ever had the fortune of handling. Ticket displays head shots of both boxers and reads, "World's Heavyweight Championship, 15 Rounds" with imprinted date and venue. This is a "Golden Circle" ticket which had a face value of $250--a truly exorbitant price in 1964. This is the first one we've ever seen from this all-important bout. A minor discoloration above Liston's head, otherwise EX-MT. Measures 2.5x6".
