1964 Peanuts Original Artwork by Charles Schulz

1964 Peanuts Original Artwork by Charles Schulz

One of the most influential cartoonists in history, Charles Schultz penned the classic Peanuts strip for half a century, turning characters like Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Woodstock, Lucy and Linus into household names. The popularity of the strip launched a massive empire that extended to TV, movies, greeting cards and thousands of various products. This is a rare, original pen and ink artwork done by Schulz. It is a four-framed sequence that would appear in daily papers. What makes it special is that it pictures both Charlie and Lucy, the two main characters. Signed twice by Charles Schulz, once with just his printed last name at the end of the strip and again at the top: "Best Wishes-Charles M. Schulz." Measuring 31" x 10.5" in the frame, the artwork and signatures are very strong and grade 9/10. There is one crease on the artist board in between the second and third frames. The glass in the frame is loose but does not compromise the strip, which is in pristine condition. Very rare and highly desirable. Even though Schultz stopped creating his strip in 2000, it is widely reprinted to this day and is still popular among fans of all ages.
