1964 Tony Conigliaro Rookie Boston Red Sox Game Used Bat
Tremendous rookie year Tony Conigliaro bat dating from his 1964 rookie season with the Boston Red Sox. Louisville Slugger model K55 exhibits excellent use with cracked handle, ball, cleat and rack marks on barrel and light pine tar on the handle. Measures 34.25" in length and weighs approximately 31.5 ounces, with model number stamped and uniform number 25 written on the knob in black marker. We estimate this bat to grade 9/10, with the only flaw being the handle crack. Conigliaro, a local Massachusetts product, homered in his first career at bat in Fenway, totaling 24 in his rookie campaign from which this bat was used. Sadly, his promising career was shortened after being hit in the head by a pitch in 1967, though he did return for four seasons until his damaged eyesight became too significant to overcome.
