1964 Willie Mays Rookie National Broadcasting Company Original Photograph (PSA Type I)
Circa 1964 promotional photo of superstar Willie Mays, used for NBC-TV's program, "A Man Named Mays," broadcast on October 6. Black and white image measures 7x9" and is a head-and-shoulders portrait of the Say Hey Kid, broadly smiling in New York Giants uniform. There is minor creasing, a crop mark on the top border, and a small stain to Mays' left shoulder, but the image remains clear and beautiful. Back has name in red marker, date stamps of July (date?) 1964, and another of June 2, '65; a caption from the NBC Network takes up the bottom third of the back. Encapsulated by PSA as Type I Authentic. Also comes with PSA LOA.
