1965-68 Roberto Clemente Game Used Bat
During the Pittsburgh Pirates’ building years in the mid to late 1960’s, and culminating in a return to prominence in post-season play in the 70’s, the enormously popular right fielder from Puerto Rico, Roberto Clemente, continued to make a name for himself, climbing well that ladder to membership into the 3,000 Hits Club. He was selected as the National League MVP in 1966, as he slugged .536, and tallied career highs in homers (29) and RBI’s (119), as well as accomplished two hitting streaks (17 and 15 games). This fine example of a Hillerich and Bradsby model U1 was in the master’s hands within the years 1965-68, and certainly added its wood to the Hall of Famer’s reign during these, his peak, years. This Roberto Clemente signature model is 35 ?” long and weighs 39 ounces. Lots of use on the barrel, with baseball seam marks visible. Beautiful patina. Handle was cracked and has since been professionally repaired.
