Living legend Willie Mays used this chunk of lumber during his days with the San Francisco Giants, most likely in the 1965-68 range (he was NL MVP in '65). It shows very nice use with a cracked handle, ball indentations and bat rack marks. Model S2 on the knob along with "24' in black marker. The "Say Hey Kid" signed the back of the barrel in 9/10 black marker and also dated by Mays "1980." Personalization has been removed from the signature. A LOA from JSA is included regarding the signature. Mays was a 24-time All-Star who bashed 660 home runs and won 12 Gold Gloves for his brilliant work in center field. And he could have won even more, since those defensive awards were only introduced six years into Mays' major league career.
