1965 Cassius Clay vs. Sonny Liston II Special Passes (4)

1965 Cassius Clay vs. Sonny Liston II Special Passes (4)

On May 25, 1965, World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali defended his title for the first time against the man he had won it from a little over a year earlier, Sonny Liston, in one of the great upsets in boxing history. This fight was originally slated for Boston, but delayed due to an injury and moved to the unlikely setting of Lewiston, Maine. The fight ended in the very first round as Ali landed what many observers coined a phantom punch to put Liston away. Offered here are four rare passes attributed to this event. There are two Dressing Room passes, both of which are inscribed and signed by the promoter of the fight, Sam Michael. Also included are a Special Weigh-in Pass and a Working Press Pass for the fight. All are framed, matted and in EX-VG condition.
