1965 Clay vs. Liston Collection from Sportswriter
The boastful Clay proves that his win vs. the seemingly unbeatable Liston the year previous had not been a fluke as he downs the former Champ in the first round. Relics from one of the most famous bouts of the post-war era are all but unseen in the collecting public. All come from the collection of sportswriter covering the bout in Lewiston, Maine. 1) Ticket stub for Weigh-In at noon on day of bout. 2) "Working Press" pass for the bout. 3) "Dressing Room" pass. 4) Presentational pen from "Intercontinental Promotions" embossed with the fighters' names, the date and place of the bout. Ticket and passes are EX or better; pen is VG-EX.
