1965 "Elvis is Not Engaged to Priscilla" Letter from Vernon Presley (PSA)

1965 "Elvis is Not Engaged to Priscilla" Letter from Vernon Presley (PSA)

Superb and somewhat scandalous content in this typewritten 1966 letter from Vernon Presley to the present of Elvis' fan club referring to his relationship with Priscilla. Original envelope addressed to "The Forever Faithful E.P.F.C" contains an 8.5x11" letter to Paulette Sanson dated June 2, 1966, noting, "Recent articles in newspapers and some magazines carried a Story of Elvis' engagement to Priscilla," indicating that it was "all a rumor" and concluding that "The main reason for this letter is to try to clarify the stories in the papers. As of now there is no engagement and no marriage plans," followed by Vernon's signature. As history has it, the two were not, in fact, yet engaged though they did so by Christmas of that year, with the wedding taking place on June 1, 1967 at Las Vegas' Aladdin Hotel. Letter is like new except for mailing folds, envelope has some paper loss to back from opening but is likewise in sparkling condition.
