1965 Emile Griffith vs. Manny Gonzalez I On-Site Fight Poster
On January 26, 1965, World Welterweight Champion Emile Griffith went into the lions den at the Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston to take on local favorite Manny Gonzalez in a non-title affair. Gonzalez won a 10-round split decision over Griffith. Offered here is a rare, original, on-site poster to this event. This cardboard poster pictures the fighters with bold color and images. The poster exhibits some soiling with surface and edge wear, measuring 22" x 28". A rare poster of Griffith, the first we have seen from this fight.
