1965 Luis Aparicio Baltimore Orioles Signed Game Worn Jersey

Offered is a rare style, game worn Luis Aparicio jersey that is signed by the Hall of Fame shortstop on the front. Aparicio, from Venezuela, played 18 seasons of big-league baseball, mostly for the Chicago White Sox. He played five seasons with the Baltimore Orioles, from 1962-66. He was the on-field leader of the White Sox in 1959 when the team, nicknamed the "Go-Go" Sox for their daring base running and base stealing, won the AL pennant. Aparicio was also a major force on the World Championship Baltimore Orioles in 1966. "Little Louie", who was 5'9": and 160 lbs., broke into the majors with the White Sox in 1956 and was the AL Rookie of the Year. He was a stellar defensive shortstop who won nine Gold Gloves. He also led the AL in stolen bases 9-times. In the year when he wore this jersey Aparicio led the AL shortstops in fielding at .971. The white home jersey has a black number 11 - with orange trim - on the jersey back. On the front is "Orioles," in black with orange trim. On the lower left front of the jersey Aparicio has signed the jersey, as "Luis Aparicio," in black pen. Tagging on the front tail reads: "Wilson 40-11-40-65-1." The autographed jersey makes a fine keepsake from the first Venezuelan to be elected to the Hall of Fame. The jersey is in excellent condition. Comes with PSA LOA for signature.
