1965 "The Beatles" Trademark Application Signed by Brian Epstein (PSA)

1965 "The Beatles" Trademark Application Signed by Brian Epstein (PSA)

Amazing history in this 1965 trademark request for none other than The Beatles. Typewritten affidavit is two pages on 13x8" unlined paper, dated January 15, 1965, and signed by manager Brian Epstein as well as then-noted entertainment attorney Walter Hofer. The letter appears to ask for reconsideration of the Fab Four's attempt to register a trademark in the United States, noting that the long-distance nature of the UK band in the USA delayed the proper completion of the original application. Great content includes, "The applicant (Epstein) is the Manager and Business Director of the group of performing artists known as John Winston Lennon, George Harrison, James Paul McCartney, and Richard Starkey a/k/a Ringo Starr, all of whom are commonly and collectively referred to as 'The Beatles'." Pages are stapled in top right corner, binder holes have been double-punched at the top; initials "TM" are in blue ink on top page. Signatures of Epstein and Hofer on page two average 6-7/10. Comes with PSA LOA.
