1966 & 1972 Baltimore Colts Signed Footballs (2)
Here you have the team that provided America with the “greatest game ever played”, elevating the popularity of the NFL nationwide. It was back in 1958 and the Colts performed a most memorable overtime defeat of the New York Giants (23-17) for the NFL championship. It was the first game shown on national television, and the first Super Bowl decided in overtime. 1966 Baltimore Colts Spalding (Sonny Gibbs) ball with 27 black ink signatures including the cast members of that sensational performance: Johnny Unitas, Parker, Berry, Moore, Mackey & Orr. On the 1971-72 (Johnny Unitas) ball are 29 total black ink signatures including Unitas, Hendricks, Bulaich, Matte, Hinton, Mitchell, Morrall, McCauley, Nottingham & Havrilak. Signatures are all dark and bold. Footballs are EX.
