1966 Charley Lau Baltimore Orioles World Championship Ring

1966 Charley Lau Baltimore Orioles World Championship Ring

Very hard-to-find player's version of the 1966 Baltimore Orioles' World Series Champions ring, awarded to Charlie Lau. Spectacular genuine diamond is centered on a black set stone, with bezel reading BALTIMORE ORIOLES - WORLD CHAMPIONS. Left shank has script Orioles logo on a baseball above the year, with right shank engraved with "C. LAU" above a glove and baseball relief. Lau missed most of the '66 season due to elbow surgery, returning late in the campaign in a pinch-hitting role, and he did not appear in the post-season. He would retire after the following season, embarking on his new career as one of the most noted hitting coaches in MLB history. His coaching career spanned 15 years, terminating with his death in 1983 at age 50. Ring is 14k gold, shows some wear, and "Official" is engraved inside, matching other player examples that have been on the market. Presents in EX-NM condition.
