1966 Pete Rose Game Worn Cincinnati Reds Jersey
Magnificent game-worn Pete Rose jersey from 1966 while he was still in the nascent stages of his career. The road grey jersey vest has a MacGregor size 44 tag in the neck and shows moderate use. The rear numerals are original but have been reattached, while the front numbers and rear name "Rose" are restorations. Under UV light, you can tell that there was never another number on the jersey other than "14" and there was no other name other than "Rose." Rose, who needs little introduction, is one of the most polarizing players in baseball history. His storied career spanned 24 years and he retired as the game's all-time leader in hits, but his reputation was subsequently tarnished when it was discovered he was betting on games. Among his bevy of on-field accolades were 17 All-Star Game appearances, three World Series championships, an NL MVP Award, three NL batting titles and two Gold Glove Awards. He was also named to Major League Baseball's All-Century Team. The jersey comes with an LOA from Dave Grob.
