1966 Sandy Koufax Signed 15-Page NBC Broadcasting Contract with Original Photograph of Him Signing (PSA)
Fifteen-page NBC broadcasting contract, dated December 15, 1966, signed by Sandy Koufax. The twenty-year contract, between Sandy Koufax and the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), calls for Koufax to work as a broadcaster on radio and television for NBC, and allows the company to merchandise Koufax's name and likeness on a variety of products. For his services, Koufax is to receive $12,500 per year for his broadcasting services, plus an additional guarantee of $37,500 per year for his marketing rights. In addition, Koufax agrees to work exclusively with NBC as a sports analyst and to help NBC in developing other broadcasting projects and shows starring Koufax. The contract has been signed in blue ink by both Koufax (grading 9/10) and an NBC executive. The contract (8.5x11.5”), which displays two handwritten corrections (each initialed by Koufax and an NBC executive), remains in Excellent condition. Accompanying the contract are four vintage photos. One is a Sporting News press photo, complete with its original paper news caption on the reverse, that pictures Koufax signing this very contract as two NBC executives and Koufax’s agent look on. The other three photos are original NBC publicity photos, two of which pictured Koufax posing in his NBC blazer with a microphone in his hand. Each photo measures approximately 7x9 inches and is in Excellent condition overall. Full LOA from PSA.
