1966 Shea Stadium New York Mets Folk Art "Peanuts" Banner

1966 Shea Stadium New York Mets Folk Art "Peanuts" Banner

Professional Charles Schultz's "Peanuts" banner displayed at Shea Stadium and was an easy Banner Day winner. The 75" x 28" banner with ropes still attached depict Charlie Brown and Snoopy in Mets caps with the writing: "METS 9th PLACE - WE MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT." Most likely 1966. Artist signed "J.A." the work is top-flight and the subject matter is delectable. This artist/fan would be thrilled when the Mets stunned the world by becoming the first expansion franchise to win the World Series three years later. Brilliantly done and incredibly saved for posterity.
