1967-1970 Riney Lochman Dallas Chaparrals Warm Up Jacket (MEARS)
Rare ABA warm-up jacket worn by small forward Riney Lochmann as a member of the Dallas Chaparrals. The Dallas Chaparrals were a founding member of the American Basketball Association (ABA) and played in Dallas for the club's first three full seasons (1967-1970) before changing their name to the Texas Chaparrals. All early ABA game-worn garments are exceedingly rare and this jacket is no exception. This is the first Dallas Chaparrals game-worn warm-up jacket and we have ever offered and we cannot recall having seen another. The blue Dureen button-down jacket, with red-and-white accents at the collar, cuffs, and base, features the team's logo patch on the left breast. "Dallas" and the number "31" appear on the reverse, each applied in white on red tackle twill. A "44" size tag is located in the collar. Although no name tag is present, Riney Lochmann is the only player to wear number "31" during the club's first three seasons in Dallas. The jacket is original as issued and displays moderate wear, including minor fraying along the collar. Lochmann's entire three-year professional basketball career was spent in Dallas with the Chaparrals from 1967 to 1970, where he averaged 13 minutes and 4.3 points per game during that time period. Full LOA from MEARS.
