1967 American League Championship Trophy Plaque
This ingeniously designed plaque is in the style of the mid-to-late century MVP awards and the quality is exceptional. Enamel World Series press pins of the top four teams in the standings are at 1st (1967 Twins phantom), 3rd (Detroit Tigers 1968), home (1967 Chicago White Sox) and topping second base, the 1967 Red Sox. The diamond is nickel with incised lettering in black: "American League Pennant Race 1967 Final Standings." It was completed a year or so after the end of the season as the LG Balfour tag on verso is old. This is one of two made for the Fenway Park offices and was obtained years later by the son of a top exec, this rare item is in EX-MT condition.
