1967 Ed Brinkman Washington Senators Game Worn Jersey
Washington Senators home jersey worn by shortstop Ed Brinkman in 1967. The white flannel pinstripe jersey is lettered "Senators" across the front and features the number "11" on the reverse. All letters and numerals are applied in red on navy tackle twill. A "MacGregor 40" tag appears in the collar. Located on the interior right front are a wash tag and a "MacGregor" label that reads "Set 2 1967." The 1967 Senators home jerseys did not display player names, but Brinkman was the only player to wear number "11" that season. The jersey is original as issued and displays outstanding use. Brinkman, who was known more for his defensive prowess than his bat, was the club's starting shortstop from 1963 to 1970. In 1967 Brinkman batted .188 with 1 home run and 18 RBI. A former Gold Glove Award winner, he retired in 1975 with 60 home runs, 461 RBI, and a .224 lifetime average.
