1967 North Vietnam Army Flag
This unusual item was captured by an Australian Army solider from the Battle of Long Tan (August 18, 1966) near the Phuoc Tuy Province. Fought between the Australian Army and Viet Cong forces at a rubber plantation when D company of the 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment encountered the Viet Cong. A total of 18 Australians and 245 Viet Cong were killed, and it is often cited as an example of a decisive Australian victory. Measures 30" x 22", hand-embroidered, in EX-MT condition.
