1968 Catfish Hunter Game Worn Jersey
The bigger the game, the better he pitched. That was his rep, and it was well deserved. Jim "Catfish" Hunter could hit the black of the plate seemingly at will. He was not merely a thrower, but a consummate pitcher. Injuries forced a premature retirement but no matter, his more than worthy record got him into the Hall of Fame. Jim "Catfish" Hunter's nickname was a lie perpetrated by A's owner Charlie Finley. He made up a story for some reporters about Hunter catching fish in the backwoods creeks of North Carolina. The name stuck. Spectacular Oakland A's yellow alternate vest has "Tim McAuliffe" tag, along with "'68" and "44" tags below it. Moderate to heavy use. "Oakland" on the front and "27" on the back. Signed (very large) in black marker on the front and back. Both are 10/10. All original, right down to the buttons on front. Comes with Mitchell and Ness replica green sleeved undershirt for display purposes. A ten!
