1968 Chicago Cubs Flannel Home Jersey
Pitcher Frank Reberger made his Major League debut with the 1968 Chicago Cubs one day before his 24th birthday. He wore this 1968 set 1 flannel home pinstripe Wilson Jersey before the San Diego Padres plucked him off the Cubs' roster in the expansion draft after the season. A new number - 57 - was sewn on and issued to an unknown team member. The terrific jersey features the team's familiar bear patch on the right sleeve and the one-year Illinois Sesquicentennial patch on the right. The 1968 Cubs finished third in the National League pecking order at 84-78, 13 games behind the arch-rival and pennant-winning Cardinals.
