1968 Ken Harrelson Most Valuable Player Award (14" tall)

1968 Ken Harrelson Most Valuable Player Award (14" tall)

His tenure with the Red Sox was brief, but it was long enough to earn him this award presented by the sportswriters of the greater Boston area. Maybe his league-leading 109 runs batted in had something to do with it. "Thermos" brand ice bucket is affixed with the seal of the "Boston Chapter" of the "B.B.W.A.," while the plaque affixed on the wooden base reads, "The John B. Gillooly Memorial Award, 1968 Most Valuable Player, Ken Harrelson." Black sharpie signature is tagged, "Hawk" and "'68 MVP." Only a few spots of wear; overall the condition is very strong. An exciting piece from this talented slugger.
