1968 Mexico Summer Olympic Games Warmup Suit

1968 Mexico Summer Olympic Games Warmup Suit

From the Mexico City Summer Olympics of 1968, offered here is a Team USA warm-up suit consisting of top and pants. The navy blue Wilson zip-front top is noted on the manufacturer's tag as size Large, and there is a smaller tag with "M" affixed. The USA crest is embroidered on the left breast above the only pocket, which also zips. The drawstring-waist bottoms are also navy blue, with red-and-white piping down the leg and zip cuffs. Both tags appear to bear the handwritten name "Axelrod," which would link it to five-time Olympic fencer Albie Axelrod. The suit is heavy knit - perhaps surprising as intended for Mexico City in the summer - and displays nice use with great logo and colors.
