1969-70 World Champion New York Knicks Oil on Canvas by Arthur Sarhott
A distinctive image capturing the magic of the New York Knicks' 1969 Championship season this magnificent oil on canvas was created by Arthur Sarhott, a world class illustrator whose work appeared in Esquire, Cosmo, Colliers and more. Measuring 44x31" including ornate frame, depicted are stars of the era from the Knicks and the Boston Celtics locked in competition, left to right: Bill Bradley, John Havlicek, Jo Jo White, Walt Frazier, Don Chaney and Dave DeBusschere. Splendidly capturing the Golden Age of the sport in supreme tension, Sarhott's brush work tells the story of the game. Wonderful original frame was likely picked out by the artist himself and only accentuates the vintage feel of the work.
