1969 Don Drysdale Los Angeles Dodgers Game Worn Jersey
All-original home Los Angeles Dodgers jersey from fireballer Don Drysdale's last season. This could very well be his last home Dodgers jersey! Drysdale teamed up with fellow hurler Sandy Koufax during the late 1950s through early 60s to form one of the most devastating pitching duos in baseball history. Drysdale's intimidating pitching style and never-say-die attitude led to a storied career that included three World Series victories, the 1962 Cy Young, 9 All-Star Team selections, 2,486 career strikeouts, and a bevy of other incredible statistics, the most dubious of which is his still-standing National League record of 154 hit batsmen. The jersey features "Dodgers" in blue felt across the front with "53" in red felt below. Number "53" is in blue felt on the back. A Major League Baseball 100th Anniversary patch is affixed to the left sleeve. Font tail has a W.A. Goodman & Sons tag, and below the Goodman tag is a swatch with "Drysdale 46L/4 Set B-69" chain stitched in blue. The "46L/4" stands for size 46 long with 4 inches of extra length added. Shows very nice use but no rips or holes. Overall, this is a fantastic piece of Don Drysdale game-worn memorabilia and is certainly a jersey of historical significance.
