1969 New York Mets Hand-Painted Baseball by George Sosnak

1969 New York Mets Hand-Painted Baseball by George Sosnak

The New York Mets' amazin' victory in the 1969 World Series was the stuff legends are made of. Oddly, this work celebrating that accomplishment is on an official American League (Cronin) baseball, created in 1970 by artist George Sosnak. The ball has one blank panel, one signed by Tommie Agee, while two others are painted with Mets logo and Agee making his incredible catch during the 1969 Series. The signature has mostly faded with age but this remains a wonderful keepsake.
