1969 Oscar Gamble Game Worn Chicago Cubs Jersey

1969 Oscar Gamble Game Worn Chicago Cubs Jersey

Best haircut in the history of the game. And not a bad hitter either. The earliest and most rare of all of the dangerous DH's jerseys is this Chicago Cubs grey flannel specimen. Gamble spent only one short season as a Cub before beginning a long career as a hired hitman and power producer for a number of teams, most notable of all being the Yanks. The "Chicago" on the front is all original as are the MLB 100th Anniversary patch on the right sleeve and the cubbie patch on the left sleeve. Number "20" on back and front have been added by the team. The number was changed from 17 to 20 back in 1969 by the Cubs for Oscar Gamble. Gamble has signed the front of this road jersey. "Wilson [size] 38" tag in front tail along with chain-stitched "1969". Strip tag in collar is "17-69-3-38"-original number, year, set, and size. Great use.
