<p>Offered is a signed game used bat of the 1969 Pittsburgh Pirates featuring the signature of Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente. A right fielder, Clemente finished his career with exactly 3,000 hits. He lost his life on December 31, 1972, in a plane crash during an effort for bring aid to victims of a earthquake in Nicaragua. Clemente was a superb fielder, with a rocket for an arm, and he won 12 Gold Gloves. He had a .317 lifetime average and was a part of two World Series championships for the Pirates, for whom he played his entire career. The signatures of two lifetime Pirates, Hall of Famer Willie Stargell and Hall of Famer Bill Mazeroski, are clearly written. Mazeroski, an 8-time Gold Glove winner, was known for his great ability to turn the double play, and he hit the winning home run for Pittsburgh in the 1960 victory over the New York Yankees. Stargell was a power hitter who rocked 475 home runs and was also a part of two Pirate World Series champions. This is a Carl Taylor Louisville Slugger Hillerich &amp; Bradsby game used bat with a length of 33", a weight of 32 ounces, and a thick handle. There are 27+ signatures (written in blue or black pen) on the bat. The signatures vary in quality, with most being a 5 to 6. Clemente's signature is a Near 7. Some of the signatures are not legible. On the bottom of the barrel is the #44 in black marker and on the side of the barrel is written "1969 Pirates." The bat exhibits game use with nicks and scratches. Comes with PSA LOA.</p>
