1969 Roberto Clemente All-Star Game Presentational Award

1969 Roberto Clemente All-Star Game Presentational Award

One of the few "personal" pieces that you will ever see of Roberto Clemente's on the auction block. Powerful award starts with a stunning 25x14x5" mahogany box. Gleaming brass plate at top reads, "All Star Game 1969 Roberto Clemente." Elegant notched lid with spot for your hand allows you to lift it with endearment. Inside rest six pewter mugs in custom made notches for each swathed in tarnish cloth that shines the mugs as they are taken in and out. The mugs are glass bottomed originally made that way to allow men to see their assassins coming as they were drinking. The National League logo shines from the front of each. Label inside the box reads, "International Silver Company." Just a stunning piece. Clemente awards outside the family can be counted on one or two hands. This is "one."
