1969 Willie Stargell Pittsburgh Pirates Game Worn Jersey - Photo-Matched (MEARS 9)

1969 Willie Stargell Pittsburgh Pirates Game Worn Jersey - Photo-Matched (MEARS 9)

This vest-style road gray jersey was worn by Pittsburgh Pirates favorite Willie Stargell during the 1969 season. It shows nice use and is signed by Stargell in 7.5/10 vintage black marker in the collar, with 100 percent original lettering and numbers spelling out "PIRATES" and "8" on the front in black-on-yellow felt. His number is also on the back in the same felt, "Stargell 46 69" is sewn in at the bottom of the front tail, and also on the front tail is Spalding size 46 tagging along with washing instructions and Set 1 1969 flag tag. The only flaw on this terrific specimen is a one inch piece of piping that is missing from the left arm opening of the jersey, causing one point to be deducted by MEARS, resulting in a final grade of A9. Photomatched to the man who became known as "Pops," this jersey is part of his career of over two decades in a Pirates uniform, with 1969 being the last played at historic Forbes Field.
