1969/70 - 1980/81 Topps Basketball Complete HIGH GRADE Set Run of 15 Sets with (4) 1980/81 Sets!

Offered is the basketball collection from the same consignor of all the high grade baseball sets in our recent March 2017 auction. These cards are of the same quality and presentation as the baseball run, totaling 15 sets with (4) from the Bird/Magic RC year of 1980/81 as our consignor was a big Boston Celtics fan, especially Larry Bird. Interestingly, each of these 1980 sets also contain the team posters as an added bonus. The only set missing is the 1975/76 Topps set, which was actually part of a lot in our previous auction. This grouping is perfect for the collector who wants to knock a big basketball set chunk of his want list off with one stroke or the dealer with ready made set break inventory. THESE ARE FRESH TO THE MARKET HIGH GRADE BASKETBALL CARDS. As was the case with the baseball sets, our consignor purchased graded cards but "cracked 'em out" to put into the pages, but also put the tag in with the card. One instance was the 1969 Lew Alcindor Rookie Card which had an SGC "flip" in the page which has a SGC NM 7 designation, but came back from PSA hell as a PSA EX-MT 6. Total of 11 cards have been PSA graded, but hundreds more cards are certain third-party grading candidates. The 1970/71 set is particularly high end. Most of the earlier sets have overall grades at the end of the individual card grades, while the later sets are generally NM to NM/MT or better, with a few sets being absolute GEMS with most cards NM/MT to MINT.
