1970 All Star Game Used Baseball
Offered is a game used baseball from the very first All-Star Game at Riverfront Stadium. In its inaugural season, baseball’s first Astroturf ballpark hosted the Midsummer Classic. In truly dramatic fashion, the NL scored 3 runs in the 9th inning to force the game into extra innings. Then, in the 12th inning, Pete Rose scored the winning run off of a Jim Hickman single, after bowling over catcher Ray Fosse. ONL (Feeney) baseball shows nice game use from that All Star game and displays the perfect red paint inscription on the panel: “14 July 1970, used in All Star Game, 12 innings - Nat. 5, Amer. 4.” Comes with LOA from the person given the ball following the game.
